Hastings Introduces Revised Warranty Statement

December 2012

Hastings Premium Filters recently changed the wording of its warranty statement.
The essential elements of the warranty are unchanged: Hastings warrants each new product manufactured by the company will be free of defects in workmanship and material. Hastings will replace any product found to be defective when customers return the product to Hastings or the distributor from which they purchased the product.

The new statement is a bit more detailed, however, regarding the Conditions of the Warranty: "Hastings' warranty fulfillment obligations above do not apply if: a) the product is not returned to Hastings for analysis, b) Hastings finds that the product
was not defective, c) the product was improperly installed or used, d) the product was reused or not replaced inside a normal service interval, or e) the product is tampered with or damaged in a manner that may inhibit Hastings' ability to conduct a warranty investigation."

The full warranty can be found online under the "Literature Library" section under the "Resources" tab.

If a filter is suspected of causing a failure, don't throw away the evidence. In order to process a warranty claim, follow the Product Investigation Procedure located in our printed catalogs and online clicking the "Product Investigation" link in the "Quality" section under the "About Hastings" tab. Filter products suspected of causing damage are NOT to be cut open or otherwise tampered with. This may prevent objective analysis and testing, and may void the warranty.

Notice of damages and claims should be made immediately when the damage occurs. Every claim will receive careful and objective consideration. If a Hastings product is proven to have caused damage, Hastings will pay the cost required to repair the equipment to its condition at the time the failure occurred.

Liability payment will not include consequential damages such as downtime, motel bills, etc. If you have any questions regarding this procedure, or any product investigation, please contact our Service Engineering Team at (800) 887-8836.
