HASTINGS FILTERS DATE CODING METHODS

There are various date coding methods used to identify the manufacturing date on the products we sell. To find the manufacturing date of a Hastings product, please look for one of the following date coding methods.

  • Three (3) Digit Numeric Date Code - e.g. 086 - The first two digits indicate the month of the year. The final digit indicates the last digit of the year. In this example the 08 indicates August and the 6 indicates 1996.

  • Numeric Digits and Diamonds or Squares - e.g. 678 - The first numeric digit indicates the last digit of the year. The number of diamonds or squares subtracted from 13 equals the month of the year. In this example the year would be 1996 and the month would be ( 13 - 4 = 9 = September) September.

  • Two Digit Date Code - e.g. 15 - This style of date code may be in this format or the numeric digits may be separated by the part number of the filter. The first digit indicates the month of the year and the last digit indicates the last digit of the year. In this example, the first digit indicates January and the last digit indicates 1995.

  • Six Digit Date Code - e.g. 022396 - The first two digits indicate the month of year. The third and fourth digits indicate the day of month and the last two digits indicate the year. This example indicates February 23, 1996.

  • Ten Digit Numeric Date Code - e.g. 0812623550 - The first two digits indicate the month of year, the third and fourth digit indicate the day of month and the fifth digit indicates the last digit of the year. The next four digits indicate the (Military) time of day. The last digit is for control purposes that are internal to the filter manufacturer. This example indicates August 12, 1996 at 11:55 PM.
