Hastings Filters continues to improve the performance and design of Hastings products. Beginning in 1998, the three and three-quarter inch series of Hastings automotive filters feature increased contaminant holding capacity and superior element retention. These improvements were accomplished by increasing the diameter of the filtering elements and implementing the use of a coil spring.
The increased diameter of the filtering elements allows for a deeper pleat depth and more surface area of filtering media. Preliminary test results indicate that the larger element will increase capacity of the LF115 by approximately eighty-five percent. |
Generally, efficiency has to be sacrificed to increase the capacity of the filter. However, through our engineering research and design, we were able to maintain the efficiency of the Hastings filters while providing this dramatic increase in capacity.
The implementation of the coil spring gives the Hastings filters superior element retention within the filter assembly. The coil spring creates a stronger seal between the element and the baseplate; thereby preventing any opportunity for oil by-pass through this area of the filter. Please look for these continuing improvements in your upcoming orders of Hastings Filters. |
